The central message of the ETSI/IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography Event is to plan and prepare for post-quantum cryptography as early as possible.

The 9th ETSI/IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography Event, to be held from 13-15 February at ETSI's headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France, offers content for decision makers on the first day.

Over the next two days, dozens of technical lectures will be delivered, covering best practices, standards and the latest technologies for post-quantum cryptography. The CREAplus team of three, Dr Nastja Cepak, Mitja Stovanje and Jakob Matek, is also attending the conference.

Our reliance on cyber technologies makes us more vulnerable to cyber-attacks every day. Quantum computers are increasingly outsmarting cybersecurity tools, which are now at the forefront of protecting business functions, connected devices and IT assets. These tools are based on cryptographic tools and standards that will be disrupted by emerging quantum technologies.

"This year's conference highlights the importance and urgency of planning and preparing for post-quantum cryptography. The point is that progress in cryptographically relevant quantum computing is faster than expected even last year. Standards are already being set, the first commercially available solutions are available, and we already know a number of best practices. But we are actually at the beginning of a long and complex journey, which makes it all the more important for companies and government institutions to understand and prepare for it," said Mitja Trampuž, CEO of CREAplus.

To maintain the availability and reliability of cyber systems and to protect the confidentiality and integrity of information resources and assets, a new set of quantum-resilient tools must be standardized and deployed. This year's ETSI/IQC Quantum Safe Cryptography Event provides a cross-section of current developments in the research, development and supply, as well as the deployment, of quantum secure cryptographic technologies.
