At the international conference "Challenges of Implementing Artificial Intelligence in Enterprises" organized by SRIPGD, the Association for Informatics and Telecommunications, in cooperation with the Slovenian-Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mitja Trampuž, President of the AI4SI initiative, presented the state of the art and challenges in the Slovenian economy in the implementation of artificial intelligence.
The international conference on the challenges of implementing artificial intelligence in business took place on May 6, 2025 at the Infobip's Croatian IT hub, following last year's successful event. This year's conference focused on the introduction of the EU AI law, how companies are adapting to the new rules, international networking in the field of AI, and best practices in the use of AI in businesses.
The conference also featured a panel discussion on "How AI is changing business models - experiences and best practices" with a keynote speech by Mitja Trampuž, CEO of CREAPLUS and Chairman of the AI4SI initiative.
Trampuž told the roundtable that AI is already moving from concept to practice in Slovenian companies, although mostly in the form of pilot projects. While many companies are making their first attempts to use AI, the Slovenian expert highlighted the challenge that few companies are systematically building AI capabilities for mass deployment.
"The key challenges remain a lack of expertise and a strategic approach to the safe, responsible and commercially viable use of AI. Competitive companies will be those that embed AI in their processes as a key driver of innovation. Trust will also be key - through ethical use, transparency and compliance with European legislation," said Trampuž.
Trampuž and his co-authors have summarized their knowledge and experience of AI deployment in the Guide to Deploying Artificial Intelligence in Enterprises, published as part of the AI4SI initiative. This year's second edition of the guide extends AI deployment guidance to the entire economy and includes breakthroughs in generative AI. It sets companies on the right path to realize the business benefits of AI and encourages collaboration between business, education and government to create a digital future that serves people.
